MaNGO Online - Overview
MaNGO Online is a service for you.
If at anytime in the last few years, you've wished that you could've
communicated your organisations vision, goals and achievements to
a larger audience than your means allow - you'll understand why
this service is of such value.
If at anytime in the last few years, you've spent hours trying
to track down the telephone number or the address of an organisation
that you've been desperate to contact - you'll understand why this
service is so important.
MaNGO Online offers valuable services for you. It features an eCalendar
for forthcoming conferences, seminars, project launches and other
events in the NGO community. MaNGO Online features front page News
where you can submit articles that discuss aspects of NGO development
in Macedonia. You'll also be able to submit information on New Projects,
New Publications and Opinions and Analysis. MaNGO Online features
and eBulletin service which will enable
you to compose an email Bulletin and have access to an up-to-date
list of your subscribers.
Additionally, MaNGO Online will allow you to include your NGO in
our directory of NGO's. All you'll have to do is fill in our online
questionnaire. Once you NGO is included in our directory, you'll
always be able to make sure that others will be able to find accurate
and up-to-date information on where you are and what you are doing.
Our directory will be fully searchable and organised in a clear
and intuitive way and it will be updated as soon as we know that
changes in your organisation have taken place.
All of these services from the eCalendar to the Directory will
be gathered and presented from information that you provide to us
on your activities. All of these services will, of course, be provided
free of charge.
By providing free publicity for events and campaigns, MaNGO Online
will ensure a fast, cheap and effective way of communicating with
a large circle of people who may not otherwise be likely to obtain
your important information.
In this way, MaNGO Online will, over time, provide a gateway to
a deeper and broader level of insight and understanding into the
current situation in Macedonia.
What has been done and what remains to be done.
MaNGO Online will also provide a gateway for communication and
co-operation between organisations in Macedonia and for organisations
and foundations interested in Macedonia.
However, MaNGO Online will need your help. The more people who
know of the site, the more people who use it and the more people
who participate in its continued development and evolution - the
more valuable MaNGO Online will be for everyone in the NGO community
in Macedonia.
In return, our commitment to you is simple. MaNGO Online is, and
always will be, open, ethical, accessible and responsive to all
NGO's - both big and small, both regional and national, both Macedonian
and International. We will do our best to help you do your best.
MaNGO Online is of and for all NGO's active in Macedonia.

What services does MaNGO Online currently provide?
- MaNGO Online News - when your organisation
initiates a project or is involved in something that is very interesting
and special - tell us! We'll be devoting the front page of MaNGO
Online to articles, interviews and reviews on some of the many
exceptional accomplishments of organisations and individuals around
Macedonia.
- MaNGO Online eCalander - this
will enable you to add date specific information about NGO events
that you're organising. This Calander will, of course, be easily
browsed and printed.
- MaNGO eBulletin - this email newsletter
will be based on the information you provide to us on your activities.
This can include such items as: useful weblinks; announcements
about forthcoming events; campaigns; projects; publications; seminars;
conferences or any other information you give to us which we agree
will be of value to Macedonia's NGO community.
- MaNGO Online in cooperation with SONET
also includes a gateway to Freemail,
Macedonia's leading free email services. By doing so we're hoping
to encourage new users of the Internet to sign up and have access
to a free email account. Freemail is easy and in the 21st
Century no one should be without email.
What services will MaNGO Online provide in the future?
- MaNGO Online Directory of Foundations, we'll be including
such details as, the name of the Foundation, Areas of Support,
a link to the Foundations' website and the language of the website.
We'll provide sufficient information that will allow you to be
able to research and hopefully source funding options for your
Projects.
- MaNGO Online for NGO Consultants: MaNGO Online will
also be compiling an online dossier of NGO Consultants, both from
Macedonia and from abroad. If you are an NGO Consultant fill out
our online form and send us
your resume and photograph (okay, the photo is optional!) and
we'll display it on our website.
- MaNGO Online Directory of NGO's, have you received your
copy of the Questionnaire in the mail? If so be sure to send it
back to us soon! Your Questionnaire will allow us to place your
NGO in our Directory. If you haven't received our Questionnaire
don't worry, you can fill out the questionnaire
online! Or if you'd prefer we can email or send you a copy
of the questionnaire through the postal service - just get in
contact with MaNGO Online.
- MaNGO Online Directory of Media Organisations will provide
contact details for newspapers, television and radio organisations
in Macedonia. MaNGO Online considers it a priority to encourage
a greater degree of communication between NGO's and the Media
Sectors, particularly in the regional areas of Macedonia. If you
are in a media organisation just fill out our online
form for media to registered.
Why is MaNGO a web-based service?
Yes, we understand and sympathise with the fact that very few organisations
have direct access to the Internet and we did seriously consider
producing a paper-based directory.
However, at MaNGO Online we firmly believe that the Internet offers
so many more possibilities and so much more flexibility that a website
was the only serious option for this service.
For instance, we all know how quickly information changes on NGO's
in Macedonia. Organisations move, change staff, change telephone
numbers, start new projects so rapidly that even a bi-annual publication
will have lost accuracy before it's even printed! This is not even
to mention the fact that, despite the very best intentions of the
publishers, no publication can ever be produced in a sufficient
quantity to ensure that everyone who needs a copy - has a copy.
However, inspite of all the advantages of putting your information
on a website, we could not choose to ignore the issue of your access
to the Internet. MaNGO Online is of and for all NGO's - equity and
access are important issues especially with regards to the
emergent information-technology sector.
We thought about this issue and considered many possible solutions,
finally we've decided that the only feasible answer is to provide
the MaNGO Online Directory for downloading, remote viewing and printing
through Adobe Acrobat. (For more information on Adobe Acrobat please

So don't worry, even if you can't access MaNGO Online everyday,
by visiting your local Internet cafe every now and then, you'll
always be able to download an accurate and up to date Acrobat version
of the MaNGO Online Directory.
How will MaNGO Online make sure that your information is kept accurate?
Your organisation is starting a new project, changing address and
telephone number, or even changing focus entirely... how will you
let MaNGO Online know about it?
Simple. If changes occur in your organisation that are relevant
to the information MaNGO Online provides - you can easily phone,
email or write to us about that change. We'll make sure your webpage
on MaNGO Online is updated immediately. Additionally, we'll be including
an 'update form' on MaNGO Online; this will make it very easy and
convenient for you to change your details!
In addition, every now and then, you'll get a telephone call, or
letter or even an email inquiring as to whether your information
is up to date and accurate.
How long will MaNGO Online last?
MaNGO Online will be developed over the next six months and the
website has core funding for the next three years.
This means you won't have to worry about MaNGO Online disappearing.
For at least the next three years your organisation will have an
Internet presence! (Don't worry though, if you're in one of the
few organisations which already has a website, we'll provide a link
to your site.)
MaNGO Online is your website as much as it is ours. MaNGO Online
is an ongoing, developing, evolving website. If you feel there is
some aspect of the site that could be improved or developed, or
even that a new service should be added… just tell us and we'll
do our best to make sure it happens.
MaNGO Online will never be 'complete' - we will always be striving
to do our best to promote, develop and assist your NGO in your mission.
MaNGO Online is of and for all NGO's active in Macedonia. MaNGO
Online is for your NGO.
